"Reena and her team have worked relentlessly and have undoubtedly taken the charge in creating a more contemporary and newer feel for the Amar Chitra Katha comics. Reena Puri, who took charge as editor at Amar Chiutra Katha in 2007, has also been instrumental in the success of the new line of comics being published under the Amar Chitra Katha banner. That being said, some of our older titles are still quite in demand, some of them being - Krishna, Ganesha, Hanuman, Birbal and the Tenali Raman issues," says Manas. We've made a subtle change in our story telling style and we've made a significant change in our art work, lending the comics a modern touch. "We'd like to believe that our newer titles will definitely be in more demand than our older ones, seeing that they have been specifically made keeping new readers in mind. While the older Amar Chitra Katha comics captured the imagination of children all over the country, over time the comic creators have tried to bring in more contemporary titles and change their style as well. We've also just recently introduced comics in Dogri, on an experimental basis. "We have published books in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bangla, Assamese, Tamil and Bengali and they've all been doing amazingly well and the demand for these regional comics has been quite high. Manas owes the recent successes of Amar Chitra Katha to three pivotal elements: firstly, ACK's experimentation with different kinds of distribution channels secondly, the launch of new and contemporary titles and thirdly, the push in regional language comics. We launched more than 30 titles in just three years," adds Manas. "After that, we haven't really looked back.

Our central concern will, however, be the storytelling. So releasing the app was the next obvious step, and even though we have ventured in a little late, we are here to make the most of it.
